West Winch has grown steadily on the southern edge of King's Lynn, and both its older terraced housing and its newer semis can carry chimney stacks that are easier and cheaper to remove than to maintain.
West Winch is one of the larger villages on King's Lynn's southern fringe, with a mix of Victorian and Edwardian brick terraces near the older core and a significant number of 1960s and 1970s semis on the estate roads off the A10. The terraces typically have back-addition stacks and main-ridge stacks, some of which served fireplaces now converted to gas. On the 1960s semis, thin single-skin stacks were built for back-boiler fires and are now among the most common candidates for removal across our whole patch.
We take down the stack to below roof level, make good the felt, battens and tiles, and install a fitted vent to the redundant flue opening. Scaffold is always erected — we don't carry out chimney work from a ladder regardless of the roof pitch. Call us for a free roof and chimney assessment in West Winch.
